AI Gap Finder

When a client cancels at short notice, you have two options: leave the chair empty, or panic-WhatsApp three regulars. The AI Gap Finder helps with the first half — it spots the windows in your day where a shorter service would slot in cleanly, so you can make an informed call about who to offer them to.

The gap analyser runs server-side (/api/platform/ai/gaps) and surfaces its findings inside the Optimise panel on the board.

Tap Optimise (top-right of the board, sparkle icon) and the AI’s suggestions include any sizeable gaps it found in the current day, with context:

  • 45-minute window 12:30–13:15 on Lerato’s chair — could fit a quick cut + blow-dry.
  • 90-minute window 15:00–16:30 in the Treatment Room — long enough for a half-head colour.

From there, you decide who to reach out to — pop open Client records or the Re-engagement panel on Reports and message a lapsed regular over WhatsApp.

The current Gap Finder is suggestion-only — you reach out manually. The “auto-SMS a one-tap booking link to the best-fit lapsed client” flow is on the roadmap but not yet built.

In its full form, that would mean:

  • Auto-scan for matching lapsed clients (same service category, same preferred practitioner)
  • Send a one-tap SMS with a pre-filled booking link
  • First-tap-wins; the rest get a polite “all gone”
