Walk-ins
Walk-ins are the lifeblood of a salon, studio, or spa — and the easiest way to overrun the day. Chairtime handles walk-ins through the same + New button as a regular booking, with one small twist: leave the client field blank.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”-
From the board, tap + New (top-right). The Quick Capture sheet opens.
-
In the client search, leave it blank — the placeholder literally reads “Search clients or leave blank for walk-in”. If they’re already a client, start typing their name and pick them.
-
Pick a service. The form shows duration and price.
-
Pick a practitioner + time. The picker only offers practitioners who can perform that service.
-
Save. The booking lands on the board as a card under that practitioner’s lane. Tap it to move the status to Arrived → In progress → Done.
Walk-in pricing
Section titled “Walk-in pricing”Walk-ins use the same service prices as bookings. If you want to charge a walk-in premium (or give a walk-in discount on quiet days), adjust the price at the POS before taking payment.
What about a queue?
Section titled “What about a queue?”There is no separate walk-in queue. A walk-in is just a booking with no client linked — it lives on the board like every other appointment. If you want a “queue”, set the time to the next slot you have free; the card will sit visibly on the board until you mark it In progress.
